Water Polo: Swimming with Attitude!

Water Polo is fun!
Water Polo is a physically demanding Olympic Sport combining ball and
swimming skills, and teamwork. It offers the opportunity for swimmers
of all ages to continue within a sport which offers competition, success
and a strong social side.
Sutton & Cheam Swimming Club is recognised as one of the leading
clubs in British Water Polo which is integrated within the club over all
age groups, running teams from Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Under 18,
1st Team, 2nd Team and a Masters side, 'The Old Gits'.
New players or potential players of any age are always welcome. If
you have played before or you are a strong swimmer and would like to have
a go at this fast, exciting, fun sport, please visit us at the pool or
for more information contact Dave
Andrews (our Chief Coach).
Sides compete in various leagues (local, district and National) at all
ages and we have a fixture list stretching to 100+ games per season. We
enjoy success at all levels and regularly produce many County and Regional
players of all ages. We also have current Under 18 and Under 16 players
in the British National Youth Water Polo
Squad and several Under 14 players , both girls and boys in the
Southern Regional Training Centre.
Our senior water polo players train twice a week on Wednesday and Thursday
evenings and we have a separate session for our junior players on Sunday
evenings. Many players also undertake additional swim training with the
club and some continue to swim competitively for the club when water polo
fixtures allow.
The club is also a very sociable one and players (senior ones of course!)
usually find time for a well-deserved 'pint' with the opposition after
matches.
